"The Sky"
I look up at the stars,
And I see her face.
I look at the lonely moon,
And wonder if she too is watching it.
The night sky has never seemed so dark,
So vast, so empty, so painful.
I see two bright stars,
They shine like her eyes.
And I remember with an ache in my chest,
How we used to be.
I remember her touch,
Like I remember the sun.
Still so clear and vivid,
I can feel the warmth still.
As if I knew it would come again.
But it wont, the sun has set,
And my shinning sun is gone for good.
The sky is dark, as am I.
I let one tear fall,
As I stare into the picture of my soul.
