Angela
Her Long brown hair, with the
Eyes that twinkle. Her smile.
Her laugh. Everything about us
Screams ‘We’re Best Friends.’
The way we walk together,
Talk about life’s nothings.
The whispering when
We try to stay quiet while telling
Secrets.
When we sleep, Her outline
Makes me feel safe at night.
When we swim, we splash,
We play. I know every scar
On her small fragile body.
I’ll be the first to tell her that
‘She’s beautiful.’
We finish each others sentences and
Each others glasses of pop.
We’re two completely opposites.
Im tall, She’s small.
Im White, She’s tan.
She’s pretty, I’m still maturing.
We laugh at each others jokes,
And we eat ice-cream all day long.
Remember when we paddled around the lake
On the warm summer day?
You got ten shades darker while I
Turned into a red lobster.
Remember when you got your car,
We thought freedom wouldn’t come
Soon enough.
She’s the girl that I will tell my grand-
Children about.
The one who will comfort me in
Times of loss.
I fell in love with our friendship.
