My Friends
Why do Tears swell in our eyes and come along with goodbyes?
Why does Sadness always come in a wave and Anger arrive in a rage?
Why is it fiery and boiling up a storm?
Why is Happiness glowing, safe and warm?
And why does it sometimes brim?
Why is Fear shaking as if on a limb,
and Joy dancing to and fro?
and Why does Love daze us so?
Why does Pride make us beam?
Yet, Curiosity brings along a dream?
And Surprise is so big that our mouths open wide, Why?
And wherever Embarrassment is, you're sure to find Shy.
Sympathy and Empathy are always holding hands.
They yearn and try, but they Misunderstand.
Frustration is not fun, not even for a while,
but Irritation is much worse, for you become hostile.
All Emotions live together, within our very bodies,
they never come alone, always with accessories.
Sometimes we lock them up inside, not wanting them to show,
but we know we need them, for without them we can't grow.
So, love your emotions, no matter how crazy they can be,
they are your friends forever and always, your key to liberty.
