Little Green Bow Tie
Little green bow tie
How you sit so high
Tightly bound around
Boxed in surfaces
I undo you
Yet you make no sound
The whispers in the background
The stuttering and static I hear
When the most precious thing I want
Is that bow tie, so soft and green,
But you do not belong to me yet
Time awaits for the both of us
I caress you dearly
Knowing I must wait for you
I hide when I hear the footsteps
I see the shadows under the door
Because they are here for you too
Little green bow tie
How you sit so high
Hidden in the cupboard
Waiting to be let out
For you holding in a present
That I am yet to open
But you are the thing that is most precious
You are genuine
Green and pure
Little green bow tie
Now that you are down and untied
I miss how you used to sit so high
You are no longer my surprise
