Forget-Me-Not
Forget-me-not
Though I may go
Straying far from this sun-drenched field
Though our lives may twist and turn
Down roads that may never touch
Though my path may be stopped or curve away
Before it can cross yours again
Though these blue blossoms may sprout, bloom, and die countless times,
Whenever spring arrives to fill the frozen earth with life,
Before we can breathe their musky fragrance as one
I ask for no outward signal, no green light shining as a beacon
Weave no delaying shroud for your life
I ask only for a blue field, for blooming blossoms
For you to pick one and remember
Forget-me-not
