Hate to Love
I glare as you go past
and feel a single tear streak down,
down,
down,
cold and leaden like steel
almost to the point of feeling fake.
But I know
know the truth in how my heart reaches for you
sobbing as you reject it without even a passive glance
it knows, too.
I look away with disgust.
I don't need you.
My heart screams again:
we don't need you.
