Death Wish
On the tracks
she is patiently waiting
until the sound of the whistle approaches.
The ignorant engineer sounds
it from his train
and the wheels make a cacophony
of noises,
although she hears a soft melody,
her fate singing with the notes
of the wheels,
rumbling towards her
at full speed;
her favorite song.
Closer it races,
unlike her calm heart,
beating its last times,
pumping its final rounds of blood.
Finally she finds content
in the closing moments of her life
only because the locomotive
grants her wish.
