When Hope Isn't Enough
Her breasts were wet
Her chest was cold
Silver hairs stood up
Along her gooseflesh
She faces forward
Not at or away from
Her future abuser
The one who's taking her life away
She isn't scared
But not prepared for
What she doesn't know
Does a Death March await her
Or maybe cremation
She isn't afraid anymore
All she has left is hope
Not even clothes her ropes
The life line she dreamed of when she could sleep
Hasn't yet become real to her eyes
