Alphie
Beneath a glimmer of the moon,
Alphie jumped.
The last one, but not
The only one.
And the revolt fell as he fell-
Fast.
But very slow,
From the sky's perspective.
"Whoosh!" loudly sang the wind,
Swimming through the trees.
Far-sighted and cold in the summer,
In the evening,
Alphie reached above
But the universe was too far
And no one else saved him -
He saved himself.
When the filmy curtains murmured thoughts,
And the moon was comforting in it's constancy
As he thought it always was, and would be,
Alphie went away
On a bicycle down the road.
He dreams of jumping,
Some nights in the summer.
