Nowhere to Go
Suidcidal thoughts
penetrate the mind,
The mind is baleful to all
other parts of the body;
harmful to those who become
to close
Standing on the ledge, overlooking the depths of
the Hudson River,
Looking up to the sky for
help; An angel, maybe, as a
guide to talk her through
this snap decision
She reaches for the pole for
support, wind blowing harshly against her sullen,
tear-stained face.
Her hair is strewn across her, sticking to her forehead due to putrid sweat
Her final words, forever
remembered by those gone
before her, pour out as the
Our Father
And as she takes her last
breath, her last glimpse of
the shady gray sky,
she leaps down the embankment wholeheartedly,
leaving Earth and all of
mankind.
