I Just Had to Mention
I've cried nights over people who I barely know,
All the pain, all the tears, all the thoughts I bestow
Come crashing down with such power at night,
Then all of a sudden I envision the light.
I’ve cried nights over friends and the conflicts we’ve shared,
How we picked and we poked and oh how we dared
To destroy our friendship with words harsh and vain,
When it comes in my head the solution is plain.
I’ve cried nights over people I’m soon to forget,
All the times I wanted to punch them and hit
With a force making the biggest sound,
But in time I realize the future I’ve found.
I’ve cried nights over people of each different kind,
Thinking back now, I was out of my mind
For giving you my time, my tears and attention,
But I won’t cry for you, I just had to mention.
