Release Me
When I am gone,
do not mourn for the many years to come.
Dont make every day seem
like an eternity has passed.
And please, I beg of you,
do not make a shrine
dedicated to my everlasting life.
When you find me
lying in bed, sound and
motionless, do not throw yourselves over me.
Do not wind your fingers between mine,
kiss them, and pray to
God and ask him to give
me life once again.
I want you to understand
that I have lived my life
as best I could.
So even though your souls
may be trying to punch their
way out of your bodies,
do not let them prevail.
Do not release too many
rivers from your eyes,
instead build up dams--
do it for me.
I ask only one thing:
Release my soul from your grasp
and let me go peacefully.
