Alone

I am alone.
I sit on the corner
of a busy, metropolitan street
waiting to see if anyone
will notice.
Will they notice my blood-shot eyes?
My scars? My sleeves drowning in tears?
My thoughts are carefully placed
In my hands-- I'm shaking.
I'm waiting,
for what seems to be forever,
for someone to listen to
MY side of the story.
But no one steps towards me.
Not even a casual saunter forward.
Not a glance.
