Revelry begins
People dance and sing
Children laugh and play
All night and day
Drinks are poured
Newborns are adored
Games are played
Pretty lights are displayed
Music is blared
During musical chairs
Teens forget angst
Remember to give thanks
Shoulders no longer carry
Bad thoughts are buried
Everyone goes to bed
With a full stomach and a clear head
The torch waits
To ignite another day
