That kid
There will always be that kid in class
Who definitely won’t pass
Because you never hear him speak
Maybe because no ones listening
His eyes are pasted to the floor
Or a pencil, or his book
Flittering eyes in rooms that scatter
Frighten him in a world of clatter
He fears he will always be
That kid, you won’t be remembering
Because when he wants to speak
Words are small and begin crumbling
But I looked deep in his eyes
And for a moment he let me inside
That kid in class
I think something happened to him
Something that silenced his words
I think his whole life is a blur
That poor kid in class
I sure do hope he will pass
