Nothing goes your way
Especially in the academic realm
Indeed 5 out of 10 is an “F”
You forget important things until
The last second
And deadlines fly past like
World War bullets
Your feelings are not often shared
And secrets you would rather hold
Close as scared children
Are pried shrieking from your grasp
Your mouth functions like an old car
Stuttering and backfiring and lurching
But worry not
For luck is a fickle thing
And it cannot lean in one direction for too long.
