Enclosed in the Serenity of Distress
For a heart that aches with every beat,
The speed of light is not fast enough,
For a moment to pass...
For all lights seem dim and distant.
Futures seem bleak,
and having to look past even the next second,
Consumes me with dread and terror. I can't see past the pain
That lurks within every corner
and crescent of me,
Every shakey breath I force.
I long for escape,
But no aide comes to rescue me
From these fellow dwellers of heavy shadows.
I fear not the painless escape
So formally known as death,
But I need it.
Yearn for it.
Because there, no misery will follow.
