Different
He sees autumn leaves bursting with color
I see trees devoid of life
He admires the viridescent caterpillar
I scorn at the crawling insect
The vibrant edge of life he sees
Uninviting is the world that wakes up to greet me
Laughter follows in his steps
And a rainy cloud trails mine
Sardonicism is never he
Yet it is me
We truly are poles apart
in our ways but for our hearts.
“Friends?” said he
and, I agreed.
