I Am Softball
The bat
The ball
The mitt.
That’s all I can think about.
I can only see myself with
those items by my side,
and stands filled with bright
posters that have my name on them.
Most girls my age think about
boys, drama, or breaking a nail,
but I’m not most girls.
All I want to do is go to college
and play softball.
I’m not the best, I know,
but I can be the best.
Iwill be known for my softball,
I will be a legend.
I can see me at the plate,
an I.U. jersey on with Shoultz
and 13 on the back.
playing as a freshman,
I feel the jealousy from the other players.
I am so excited!
I hear my mom crying on the phone
when she hears the news.
My parents have never been
so happy since I made the
honor roll in first grade.
The bat,
The mitt,
The ball,
It’s life!
