Running on Empty
I’ve known pain all my life
Experienced it too much
To feel the rawness of the cut
My emotions are spent
My tear ducts gone dry
My heart has bleed so much
Drained too many times
To refill itself
I’m running on empty
With nothing left to say
I stab my heart in vain
For there’s nothing left to stab
My heart resembles an empty eggshell
Life has sifted thru the hole
Nothings there,
Doesn’t mean it isn’t still fragile
One more crack
Then I’ll truly be nothing
But air
