Sometimes I Wish
So tired of hearing them fight
So tired of their drama
Sometimes I wish I could disappear
Or float forever in space
They push the limits
Of my sanity
They drive me closer to the edge
Of nothingness
Sometimes I wish I were a fish
Or a bird
Forever free to ride the currents
Unthinkingly, they squeeze my little heart
Kicking happiness out the door
Inviting pain and anger
That swallows childish happiness
Sometimes I wish I could be free
From the cozy little prison
They set up just for me
