A Closed Door
My heart keeps getting trampled on
Stomped on without thought.
I open the door to my heart
And let him in.
The door swings open
Before he even knocks
I readily give him the key
To my heart on a silver platter
He takes it and runs before
I even realize what I've done.
I leave open the window to my heart
So I can hear his voice
Calling out to me
But all I get is
A cold, icy rain pouring in.
Silence fills my heart
Now I've locked up my heart
And I don't know if anyone
Can break down the
Brick wall that has replaced
That once welcoming door.

I owe it all to your mistakes.
