Through Glass
Through window pane glass
I see a reflection.
A woman's retreating back; soft
but secure.
Encased in cotton and emotional walls
she is stable, unique and aware.
She contrasts starkly with the hard walls,
brittle glass, and gooey resolves that surround her.
And lamentable fact, she leaves us!
When she goes, thought and verse die.
