"It was night, and the rain fell; and falling, it was rain, but, having fallen, it was blood" ~ Silence - A Fable by Edgar Allan Poe

Difference is a disease upon human kind
Unique qualities turn to unwanted possessions
Thoughts race about purpose and meaning
Damaging the mind, body, and soul

Endless days follow those lost in darkness
Their shadows, minds, and existence gone
The kiss of death upon their icy lips
Hearts beating rapidly as eyes fade away

Shells within the inner walls of society
Taken by Death and her relentless grasp
Forever they walk cold, broken, and alone
Unaware of the rotting corpse they've become

The author's comments:
I always see others judging people on how they look, how they dress, how they do anything and they don't seem to realize what is going through that person's head when they hear "oh she's got this GIANT forehead" or "he dresses like a hobo"

After reading "Fragile" I went to look at you other poetry and was not dissapointed. I loved it! If these are the only thoughts that fill us, what are we but living dead?
