My Life
Sometimes I see Fifth Avenue
From 59th through 96th
Close to the park but so far away
Or a horse jumping
An oxar, high and wide
Or a vanilla
softy, Yummy but unfortunately unhealthy
Or a game of monopoly,
Carefully deciding whether to buy Park Place for $350
Like a blank sheet of reinforced, lined college-ruled paper
Waiting for me to write down my say
Or at 11:05am,
The time I’ve consistently woken up
For many Saturdays
But it is also like a glacier lake,
Any small ripples disturb the calm
