Magnet

I have a problem, minor to most but not to me.
You see my friend I’m much like a magnet.
But unlike others, I don’t connect.
I repel like oil on water,
I show and I see,
But the ones that come,
Well they just aren’t for me
I will be waiting for quite a while,
But I guess I don’t mind...
I have been single this long,
What harm can time be?
I will just sit on my porch step,
Waiting for my prince to come…
