Nyctophobia
Sneaking shadows laying in corners
threaten to reach out with terrifying hands.
Peaceful colors tell of day’s stories
and nature’s nightlights start appearing,
Safe sounds are disappearing by the fall
of a silent darkened veil.
And cautious steps carrying a fearful heart,
whose faith rests in lighted trails.
Eerie whispers are laced with panic shivers,
Over exaggerating a phobic imagination.
Laughing werewolves creep along,
with demons dancing behind.
Hidden hellions create mischievous tricks,
Making even bushes jump with fright.
Golden orb shines a wicked smile,
Haunting the conscious mind
