Take my Hand
Once upon a time,
tears fell down a clouded face,
and drowned and drowned,
in a heartbroken place.
Stars wink,
crickets cry,
the wind howls.
In the fire there danced a dream,
to be strong,
to be valiant,
to find peace.
And a prayer was uttered
within a mourner's soul,
to help a sister,
so she too could find strength.
Resist, my friend,
and look at these tears.
Let them disappear, for only you
can change yourself.
Eyes close,
listen to the rustle of the leaves,
and hope again that life can turn
from dark to light,
from anger to love,
from despair to a smile.
Remember that I'm here for you,
that you can have my hand to hold,
and my smile as your hope.
