Shadows
Girl with anger, girl with mind you have no Idea what she hides behind.
Her smile, her looks, her bright colored clothes
It all hides what’s beneath her shadow.
Don’t get me wrong she has a heart of gold
But beneath it lays a call for help.
She can’t keep everything away for much longer,
For it’s hurting her.
Physically, socially, emotionally, and mentally as well
It seems as if she has the perfect life,
Love, fortune, and some what fame around town as well.
But deep inside,
There is anger, rage, fright,
Hope the someday she might understand why
Her shadow taunts her with the lies.
She shouldn’t be like this, no not at all.
Her life is very well, so far.
Her family amazing,
Her friends are kind.
For her thoughts were great at one time.
You think you know what she’s thinking,
This girl I tell you, it’s something else,
Something, someone you’ve never seen.
She unique, for sure
Some ways not good,
For she was raised great,
But turning out not so good
Her role models are perfect,
There’s no one to tell her to do wrong.
Though she’s seen a lot, from a distance,
In the long shot she’s only seen a part,
Of what lies ahead if she keeps taking this path,
A log narrow road, into a dark dangerous rath.
Her shadow is deep, dark and scary.
She falls into it, and she’s starting to grow tire and weary.
I always wonder how this girl turned out, such a mess,
So much of a mystery
There is no explanation of how this girl acts,
When no one is looking
Or for her shadows words,
It’s seeming to make her crazy.
But you won’t ever see it, She hides it so well.
The shadow is like a chamber holding her back,
Away from the world, Like she is under attack.
People would surely help If they only knew,
What kind of monster has grew,
Inside her shadow seeks a wondering thought.
What if, what if,
What if she stops?
Stops trying, stops hiding, Stops wondering why,
Why she’s like this, though she only attempts not to cry.
For this attitude she gets in trouble,
Though it’s not her fault,
She wants to change, but something stops her.
If only I could explain her actions to you further.
But I’m so sorry,
So very, very sorry.
My shadow won’t let me.
