For I am...
For I am alone
Again
Facing my worst fear
Of abandonment
Just sitting as still as possible
Like an old car in a junkyard;
Waiting to be fixed
For I am silence
Pure quiet in the dead of night
Only breathing along with the
Song in my soul
But screaming within
Along with the loud
Bumping and thumping of my heart
For I am a giant oak tree,
Slowly dying and withering away
Always giving and getting nothing in return
Simply caught in a never-ending circle
Of “thought” and life
The Earth holds me planted to the ground
To wait and slowly disappear
For I am me and that is all I can be.
