On bended Knee
There are bruises where skin used to be,
Scabs of black, on my bended knee.
Can't seem to move once I get here still,
No words they come bout how I feel.
Got up once and my husband he left me,
Three mouths and no money, my God, he left me
No excuse, no remorse, I prayed but he left me
Someone tell my why I'm here.
Got myself together down on my knees,
Children grown, new purpose I see.
There are bruises where skin used to be,
Scabs of black, on my bended knee.
