You warm face on bright sunny days.
You tan me after I’ve been out for a while.
I see how everything comes alive, but
I see what you did to my sister.
The scar on her arm will always remind me
That you can cause skin cancer.


The author's comments:
My sister got skin cancer this summer. Thankfully it wasn't really bad, but it made my whole family very much aware of the sun and the need to put on sun-screen. Please have your skin checked. It saved my sister's life. It could save yours.
