My hour of darkness

A broken record of lies
That form these unbreakable ties
The restraints that hold me from my flight
The lies that blur my vision of what’s right
Caged like a bird from my life
Fighting with senseless strife
Love becoming a suicide mission
Still holding on to childhood superstitions
Crying invisible tears
And screaming voiceless pleas
Wandering in the dark
Understanding things no one else sees
