You smile and talk to me
As I try to simplify my thoughts
I need to use simpler terms
Like I'm teaching someone
Much younger than me

I try to teach
But you just don't grasp it
I use everything I have

Flash cards
games
Tests and clues
In the end it's no use

So let me try
One last time
To let you into this heart of mine

I think you're amazingly perfect
The best man I've ever met

But that thing you said to me
The one that started with L
and ended with o-v-e
It wasn't true
No matter how much I want it to be

Yet I take the fall
I bet that's what Adam did to Eve

I think this poem is beautiful written, and if that guy makes you feel this way maybe you should try dating a guy that makes you feel like writing love poetry. I bet it would be real pretty:)
