Waiting
The scent of liqueur
Assaults the air
as you begin to speak
The sickening scent makes me dizzy
Could I ask you not to breathe?
It is your perfect excuse for everything
And your reason for needed excuses
It promised you everything
But in the end it made you useless
I can't stand to see you like this
Stumbling around
Like a giant in the clouds
One day you're going to trip
And then you'll come falling d
o
w
n
Some how you've stayed up
Floating along the mist
Just barely there
Like a teasing lovers kiss
The man I used to know
Left half a dozen bottles ago
Out to his better world
Where rainbow daisies grow
Now the permanent figure
Enjoying an extended stay
Drowning in the elixir
The one that promised life
But
The problems will still be here
When that other guy arrives
