&quot;what is compassion without suffering?&quot; <br /> -Jamie Tornakowski

You looked beautiful last night
but you're not beautiful this morning
so wipe away your make up
wet that napkin with your tears
there's nothing left to see here
and nothing left to feel.

Such a lovley actress
but no
you have to cry
and they all wonder why
but can you ever answer questions?
You say you don't like questions.

You force a slight smile
and that works for a while
but its hard to act without a stage-
and without beauty
with your pensive eyes
in this vaccant place
you hear
"kids, there's nothing left to see here"
as you lay there on your face.

You smile a true smile
because you feel complete
you look as miserable as you feel darling
and that is your release.
Your heart beat drags along
and slows to a delaying waltz-
your eyes blink with the beat.
at age fourteen
death was your greatest feat.

I don't believe I should explain this. My poetry should be a puzzle, or something some one could interpret
as their own story. There is no better way to connect than to misunderstand.

That's the whole amazing point of poetry nothing "needs" to being complex, or anything at all. It just create and image, make you feel. Because this is a great poem.

I sometimes try, but I never can be as complex as I need to be

You didn't spell anything or have intricate hidden messages. That would have been awesome, but it gets really hard about half way through because I tried doing that in all of my poems so far and no one has noticed without my aid. It makes me sad that all of my hard work was put to waste.
