Hills of trees
Decorated with soft warm leaves
Colorful
Amazing

To think that these layers
Of feathery down
Once green
Now a rainbow of colors
Red
Yellow
Orange
Pink
Pigments that were always there
Waiting
Waiting
Waiting
For their spotlight
For their chance to shine
For their chance to show the world
Their true colors

To think that
In only a fragment
Of a year
These colors show
At the end of autumn
They fall
Their time is up
They have amazed
Wondered
Swallowed up
The fixation
Of the ones who
Look hard enough
To realize their beauty
Their magnificence
Falling
Falling
Falling
They blow away
Never to be heard from again
They lose their allure
Transforming
Back into the earth
Their birthplace
And suddenly
People forget
The beauty
The magnificence
Of these leaves
Scraping them off their boots
Leaving them
On the door mat
Outside
They wait
Wait
Wait
Until next year
For their chance to shine
Once again showing
Their true colors
Their beauty
Their magnificence
The extraordinary in
The ordinary

This is the best poem that I have ever read! No, jk. I wrote it. I think it is ok. It is definitely not my best. To ChristopherK, well, I am sorry to hear that, I hope you will change your mind in the days, weeks, years to come.

This is a pretty cool poem!

You're a good writer. I'll admit that, (even though the "heroes" on your profile are my least favorite political powers in America.)...

Anyways, keep writing!
