Love is Mine
I told my parents today
I'm in love
I'm in love
With knowing looks they shook their heads
You're much too young
Their know-it-all chin held high
You're still an early bird
You still rely on that tidy little nest
You're much too young to know
What true loves feels like
My frown sunk lower as thoughts collided
What's beating in this chest of mine
If It's not a heart full of love
Is it just a drum that keeps me going
Pain and hurt I know is different
Crying and falling tears I know are different
Love and True love is different
When I hold their hand I feel so proud and happy
When I kiss them I feel alive and weightless
When I'm held I feel so fearless and safe
With assuring whispers this beating in my chest starts to speed
I don't need tears to know I'm sad
I don't need a smile to know I'm happy
I don't need you to tell I'm in love to be in love
With such radiating knowlege
How can you know what I'm feeling
Just listen to this rythmic beating
This beating only I can hear
I'm in love
I'm in love
You won't know, but I would
These feelings that are mine
I don't have a steady drum
But a loving heart
I'm in love
I'm in love
And I know it
