the girl and fading kite

kite
how do you turn a girl into a kite?
you let her go
you let her turn her back on you
and walk away
glide
with only memories left
you watch her gradually walk
and eventually crescendo into the sky
you try to chase after her
follow her
you extend your arm out
so close to reaching her
and pulling her back
but she's just an illusion
in the back of your mind
stuck forever
