you smile, and i return the favor
I watch you laugh along
you only talk about her
I love you, though I know i'm wrong
i go over what i would say
if i could get it into words
you would walk over and shyly wave hey
but i know your rejection would hurt you even more
i'm one of your best friends
and it would be awkward
so i'll let the tears drip down my chin
and bleed across my shirt
just so you can smile
