wake up
when the lights burn out
the candle dims
my existence ceases
heave, my lungs supply decreases
air moved out
by the bloody knife within
twisting, carving
your initials into my skin
i cannot wake
from my worst nightmare
drenched in sweat
fate unclear
a road split
two directions, two selections
i have no choice
a world of all fear,
of hashing teeth
& mercury beneath my feet
swallowing me alive
i have to find the courage inside.
