When I come To
Of all the ones I’ve come to know
You’re the one I hate the most while your blast holds a steady flow
My grip is gnawed down to the bone
It takes my mind a second to blow
But it takes my guns a time to load
And although the path unfolds
It’s covered by dust and smoke
So should I ever make a hit
I guess I will never know
Could I be on your hit list?
I really prefer not to know
Yet sure enough I do suppose
Itsnice to see some action unfold
Unless you’re starring in the show
And taking on the leading roll
But that of course I’ll never know
Because you have the lightest toes
And hide in the darkest abode
And watch me work from your window
As if I’m too dumb to know
So I went into backup mode
And I bore arms a hundred fold
See me stationed at my post
Constantly marching to and fro
Hoping that after something blows
It might very well explode
And precisely let me know
When you’re ready to go
And surely as you would suppose
I have never left my post
Because I don’t know
where this unfolds
So I remain here on my own
Waiting for my guns to load.
