The Moon
Three little girls splashing in their late night bath,
A small puppy trying to join in,
Giggles and bubbles all around.
The reflection in window.
Summer slowing to an end.
Crickets crying out at the slow dropping of temperatures.
Birds protecting their babies from the creatures of the night.
Darkness surrounds the small village,
With gleaming lights from up above.
The stars shine down telling all it’s time for bed.
The girls yawn as their eyes become heavy,
Attaching to their teddy bears to begin nights slumber.
All that’s left in sight is the glow of the late night moon.
Taking the place of the summer sun,
Assuring all another day is soon to rise.
