Always A Gem

I am alone in a sea of emeralds
Every single one a memory
They fall from the sky
And blow with the wind
They surround me,
Comfort me
I feel them soak into my skin,
turning me a shining gem green
And I protect them
As I find myself falling
Into the mortal world,
My fantasy slowly fading into
Nothing
I walk to the book store,
Always a gem.
