Faults
I know that I may have my faults
And some things I may take
Without a care to what it does
Or what heart it may break
But listen, please, to what I say
When I say I mean it not
I do not wake from day to day
To intend pain and rot
My nature drives me ever on
To do the things I do
And no excuse I can create
To apologize to you
For all I say is I did plan
To save you from the pain
And sometimes things don't work hand in hand
And nothing is ever gained
I whisper now that I will plead
That you not leave just yet
That you will not just up and leave
And leave me like the rest
I swear to you, the reasons I
Can give for why I need
You to stay and be my friend
Can go far as we see
You hear my words
You know my mind
You help me laugh
And pass the time
I may not love
You as you do I
But let me sing
This lullaby
To beg you, friend
To stand by me
And accept my quiet
Apology
