The Greatest Game Ever Played
The pads resting on my shoulders
Skates tied tightly around my feet
The grip of the tape in my gloved hand
I taste rubber in my mouth.
The coach walks in to give us a talk
We run over some last minute things
He screams and yell so we understand
How hard we have to play to win.
The team meets in the middle and give a great cheer
The time to play is near
We skate onto the ice with the other team
We warm up the goalie for the game best game of the season

We send out a center, 2 wings, and 2 defense
The ref come out to set up the face off
The crowd is going crazy
The ref drops the puck....
The game has begun
At the end of the first were tied at one
We have yet to feel exhaustion
“Slug some water and get back out there!!!” coach yells.
The second is rough
Our left wing has taken a hard hit
Right on the boards
Were he lies holding his head.
After that revenge is in mind
We target the player who hurt him
Trust me, we weren’t to kind
Once again the teams are even.
Our team is up be 1
with 3:00 on the clock
It’s going to be close
We can almost taste victory
Down to the last minute
The other team score
We hang our heads
hoping we can last a bit more
0:05
0:04
0:03
0:02
0:01
The final score is 4-3
We all form in the middle of the rink to celebrate
Even though we are sore we and tired we feel energized
While the other team sulks behind their benches
The team forms a line
As we pass the other team we say “ Good game”
We gather in the locker room to shower and change
Then the coach comes in with pizza boxes piled high.
With the aroma being over powering we dig in
Slowly the pizza disappears
Were all stuffed with pizza and memories
Memories of the greatest game ever played.
