My Beautiful L
Reach me now
Find me here
Almost in view
The gate ever wrought
Iron hard and unmoved
Past or present or future
Life is all of them
And so are you
My beautiful L
You look past me
Your double color eyes
Focus on the horizon
The beyond
Not the here and now
Not on me
I am merely a reflection
In the lenses of your glasses
My dear, ever-where L
Listen to me drift
From high to rasp
And I will hear you
Alternate tenor to alto
If we can combine
We can be grounded
In the now
I will die as you comfort me
I will live as the applause cascades
We bow
But not before I lay
My pale hand on your pale face
And, L, I meant it
Not theatric drama
Not a spurring act
But charged emotion in my
Delicate fingertips
A picture in my mind and my story
Lyrics you never knew were real
Words you chose not to hear
Words from you I wish you meant
Words of love, my warm L
But cold is your heart to me
Though I wish it were as warm as
Your soft hands
Only mildly callused from the
Notes you strum on the guitar
The guitar we wished to write with
We wished to create with
That can of peaches you preached
How sweet the taste
The taste of you
My dear
My one
My beautiful
My L.
