for us
mold your sadness into something the masses can swallow
cry delicately but with passion
play the sweet and innocent for their sakes
so they don’t see your humanity rear it’s ugly head
smile and nod with teary eyes
when they give their best advice
because they’d know how to fix it
the sun can help you, really
and nature too
don’t forget to take care of yourself
but don’t forget to keep up appearances
you need to be presentable
you can be sad, but they don’t want to see and their kids don’t need to be exposed to that
it’s not normal, so you should grin and bear it, for us.
