A River to Paradise
The refreshing aqua engulfed the girl’s worries.
Replacing them with the damp feel against her feet.
It felt like the washing of the malevolent feeling of sin.
It made her forget the crystalized tears that fell in solitude.
Her tears fell in the water like ink spilling on parchment paper.
They drowned out the picturesque water with a salty taste.
The fishes swam around the water, living life to the fullest.
Unlike the girl inundated in the natural blue waters.
Who was dreaming of realities and paradises that didn’t exist?
It didn’t take long for her to succumb to the flowing sleepiness.
Her eyes closed as her head lay still on the scutch grass.
Hands arbitrarily twitching ever so slightly at random.
The birds’ chirping filled the joyous girl’s heart with glee.
The chiffon fabric dress flowed like blooming flowers below her.
The environment somewhat healed the wounded, bloodied heart.
The chill environment released her pain into a flying dove.
The dove flew with myriads of other animals, blue jays, falcons you name it.
The girl stood there in awe, the birds flew silently in unison.
A girl's escape from reality is the river near her little hometown.
