The type of tired
Laying on the floor and staring at the ceiling because nothing’s fun
Turning the lights off because you don’t want to be awake
Drowning in sad music because you hate knowing you’re breathing
Buried under blankets in a dark room because you don’t want to go through another day
Not eating because you don't even know what the point is
Ignoring your friends because you don’t have the energy to talk to them
Not even being able to cry because you’re exhausted
The type of tired that doesn’t let you feel
Not focusing in class because you can’t stop thinking
Wondering why you’re trying
Not talking because who actually cares
Trying so hard to keep your eyes open but it’s like they’re made of lead
Being there for everyone but yourself
Hating being awake but being scared of going to sleep because of nightmares
The type of tired you can’t escape
Pajamas and sweatshirts all day because you can’t bring yourself to change
Not being able to bring yourself to take a shower or wash your face or brush you teeth
Knowing you have stuff to do but you can’t seem to get out of bed
Forgetting everything because you’re too preoccupied with thoughts you don’t need
Wondering what’s going on outside of your locked bedroom door but at the same time not caring
The type of tired that overtakes your mind and body
Being told it’s your fault because you’re not trying to get better
Not being understood when you say you hate this feeling but also don’t want it to go away
People saying they know how you feel when they don’t
Reminders that only you know how you feel, only you can tell us.
The type of tired that’s unique to you and no one can really understand
Not knowing if you’ll ever feel different
Feeling bad for feeling bad
Wishing you didn’t have to be this way because of how much it hurts, not just you but everyone
The type of tired people don’t like to talk about
Being told to go for a walk or get some exercise
Always dismissed as lazy
The type of tired that people think is an exaggeration
Feeling, but feeling the ‘wrong’ way
The type of tired you’re not supposed to feel
The type of tired that gives you the diagnosis of clinical depression.
